8th Grade Literature's Reading Across Five Aprils

We are currently reading the 12 chapter Newbery Honor Book, Across Five Aprils by Irene Hunt. This historical fiction novel follows a Southern Illinois family through the tumultous four years of the US Civil War. Ask your student who Jethro is and see how much they can recall from our class discussions!

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle

The 8th grade class has just started reading the 1962 Newberry Award Winning Book A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle in preparation for our field on February 10th. It's an in-class activity, so don't expect to see homework, but please be sure to ask your child about the book!
