Patriot's Pen 2018-2019
Congratulations to ELGMS Patriot's Pen Writing Contest Finalists!
As an opportunity offered by their ELA teacher, Mrs. Wagner,
the following students entered the Veterans of Foreign Wars Patriot's
Pen Writing Contest in October. ELGMS entries were finalists among
all the entries in Sheboygan County. They were honored at an awards
dinner hosted by members of the VFW and the Women's Auxiliary on
February 25th at VFW Post #9156 in Sheboygan.
Congratulations to the following ELGMS students, who were selected
as finalists: eighth-grader Lucia Van Ess placed fifth and was awarded
$25, eighth-grader Antoinette Kebschull placed fourth and was awarded
$25, and eighth-grader Ava Stroessner placed third and $200.
The students’ thoughtful and personal tribute to our nation's veterans
not only appropriately honors our country's heroes by expressing
"Why I Honor the American Flag", but also represents
Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Schools well.
Special congratulations on a job well done by each of these
ELGMS students!
