New Semester, Fresh Start!
Second semester/third quarter started last week!
In CPM math, we're currently studying Systems of Equations...graphing and solving linear equations.
In literature, we're reading Collection 5: A Matter of Style. Studying and analyzing authors' unique writing styles. We'll be beginning Across Five Aprils, a historical fiction novel about the US Civil War, soon.
In language arts in coordination with social studies, students are working on researching and writing a paper about a turning point in history.
The question in 7th grade Spanish lately has been Que hora es? Students know how to ask and answer what time it is in Spanish. It's a great, practical use of applying their knowledge of numbers!
Upcoming reminders: February 4th and 5th : 8th Grade MAPS Testing (reading and math)
February 7th : Night Dance (7/8th graders) ~ Valentine's Theme
February 10th : Early Dismissal/ Parent-Teacher Conferences See you then!
